Conventional and Conservation Seedbed Preparation Systems for Wheat Planting in Silty-Clay Soil

چکیده

Conventional seedbed preparation is based on deep ploughing followed by lighter and finer secondary tillage of the superficial layer, normally performed machines powered tractor’s Power Take-Off (PTO), which prepares in a single pass. Conservation methods are wide range interventions, such as minimum or no-tillage, means with passive action working tools require two more passes The aim this study was to assess both power-energy requirements conventional (power harrows rotary tillers different width) conservation implements (disks harrow combined cultivator) soil quality parameters, reference capability preparing an optimal for wheat planting. Field tests were carried out flat, silty-clay soil, using instrumented tractors. test results showed significant differences among operative performances typologies PTO: fuel consumption, power energy strongly higher than harrows. However, also decrease these parameters proceeding from implements. better provided tillers.

Winter Wheat Grain Yield and Grain Nitrogen as Influenced by Bed and Conventional Planting Systems

Bed planted wheat systems offer a new alternative for the traditional wheat producer to provide opportunities for crop rotation, more efficient use of water, and new techniques of nutrient management. This study was conducted to determine if planting winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) in Oklahoma on raised beds can maintain grain yields while providing more options in the cropping system. Expe...
